A small science (Orion Center) center in Missouri is selling a Mercury program capsule model that was built by McDonnell Douglas in the 1960's. According to the science center, McDonnell Douglas donated it to the Boy Scouts of America who later gave it to the St. Louis Science Center, which in turn donated it to the Orion Center.
The model comes with an escape tower (we all need one right?). I have no connection to the center, but it resides in my hometown in mid-Missouri and I have taken my boys there who thought it was pretty cool.
The item is on eBay for $25,000. Not sure what a good value for this item would be but it is an interesting piece! I wonder if any of the Mercury astronauts ever saw this model?

I just went to check out the listing on eBay but it's been ended.

Hmm, they must have made a deal offline.
