This person is apparently cashing in on the lack of STS-51L footage and is selling theirs for $50,0000... What are your thoughts?

$175.00 for shipping? Are they shipping it in a lead safe?

It is so NOT WORTH IT! It's nothing that hasn't already been seen.

That would be laughable if it wasn't Challenger. I just wonder what they think they have that is worth that much money.

I find it immoral and just plain disrespectful that anyone would want to cash in on what was a heart wrenching event where good people lost their lives. The footage should have been sent to NASA.

Now this is an important video as it really gives a sense of the confusion amongst the onlookers. Also, interesting to hear the media reporting in 'real time'.

Looking around youtube also unearthed this amateur video of the Challenger accident.

I missed this when it surfaced last year but have to say it's terribly sad because of the shocked commentary from the onlookers. Brings it all back to me again...

We have a topic dedicated to amateur video of the STS-51L tragedy. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to discuss the footage separate from this sale.

"This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available."

Did I cause this? I also posted this to the NASA reddit.
