I'm hoping somebody can give me a clue about collectability, value, or just additional info about some items I bought in a GSA auction.

The first is a dozen plywood cases measuring about 14"x20" and 6.5" deep each. They have NASA decals and each are marked with a similar description such as "S.S.M.E Phase 2 + Instrument Plugs Plane "XE". SSME is Space Shuttle Main Engine and Phase 2 is the engine modified post-Challenger from what I've looked up. I'm not sure what the Instrument Plugs are. The case is carried like a brief case. It seems like a case a technician would carry to perform some kind of tests on the engine.

The second item is a wooden trunk measuring about 17"x28" and 15" tall. It is made by Eagle Cases. It is marked NASA Property, is olive green/Army green in color, and marked "Took Kit, Medical Equipment" with NSN 5180-00-611-7924 and "American Kal Enterprises Inc." I found a description of that NSN as: "For maintenance and repair of medical facilities. Kit includes pry and scraper bar, wrecking bar, tube bender set, slide caliper, medical equipment chest, chisel, bolt and glass cutters, tube cutter and flaring kit, desoldering systems, soldering flux, so" (it cuts off at "so").

I can email pictures. Thanks for anything you can share!

All times are CT (US)
