This Gene Cernan signed photo just went for $50 on eBay and was guaranteed authentic with COA? I think it is real, but I actually forgot to bid last night. One bid, one winner. Any opinion?

I have a number of Cernan's autographs. The paint pens are the the sloppiest usually (except my Eileen Collins, she took so much time). Anyway, I think it looks OK.

EDIT : Ok, I was able to get a better look on my computer (Was i-phoning it before) I'm gonna rescind my OK, like others said, looks shaky. If it's real, and that seems less likely as I re-look at it, he had a bad day and was rushed signing this.

I saw that one. I thought it looked way too off to touch. Shame as I like the photo.

There's a giveaway on this that makes me think it's good.

I think you were lucky to forget to bid.

It has many issues in my opinion, not the least of which is the inscription bears no resemblance to Cernan's writing.

I chose not to bid on the photo because I was uncomfortable with it. Especially the Apollo 17.

Agreed, many aspects of it raise doubts.

Not to change the subject, but I noticed the image is hosted by Photobucket.

I also have a Photobucket account and I REALLY do not like the way they have changed how images link. Used to be you could directly link to a full size image. Now, you are forced to link to the Photobucket album page with a reduced size image. I have read eBay sellers are leaving Photobucket in droves due to the changes. It has really messed with listings.

I actually like the changes the did at Photobucket. To just click and copy the link is very nice. And their editing features are fast and easy to use. I don't use them for eBay listings whereas I just upload my photos directly to my listing.

Also, one red flag on the Cernan was the one bid. I suppose if I was really interested in it I wouldn't have forgotten.
