I agree it's wasn't intentional.Beats me how this guy gets away with not only making copies of the 'Snoopy' patches but even reproducing the copyright info from the original designs as well. |

Those aren't copies. They are from an estate sale and other cS members.

Really? Consistently brand-new patches (many of which nobody else has for sale) that sell and exact copies of the patches get re-listed immediately again? How many estate sales did this guy stumble across? |

I do believe most of his stock comes from a large estate sale buy.I personally bought a single lot from the Al Bishop estate some time ago via one of the space auctions. This lot consisted of 5 full bankers boxes and much of the content was patches. There were around 10 to 25 examples of most of the patches but even more of certain designs. |

Same seller has an identical patch currently listed as 221218562846, which doesn't have the typo.

I've used this dealer before. I've spot checked some of his offerings and they are exactly like patches I've obtained directly from original sources of the item. For example, take a look at this patch from the seller and compare it to this rather shoddy replica from another seller. Notice in the latter the lack of detail and the thick border all the way around the tabs. |

The seller may be selling some original patches (and I have purchased from him before) but some of his patches are not authentic. His SpaceX CRS-1 patch, for example, is not the style released by SpaceX, either as part of the set they sold in 2012 or distributed to employees. The colors are wrong, as is the stitching. His Snoopy patches appear to be knock-offs as well. At least a few are replicas of designs that NASA only issued as a decal. Other patches are clearly modern replicas. His STS-6 IUS patch is a good example. Now, it may be that he's purchased these replicas from another collector and is reselling them, having had no part in their creation, but don't assume the patches are original. |

I too have watched his listings. He is consistently overpriced and questionable on what he has to offer. I've seen him list many patches, particular the SCA patches, as "originals" when they are clearly from at least the second run. (They made a change in the font after the first run.) So, I too agree that his sources are questionable. As such, I've refused to be pulled into his listings. I may look at them, but I refuse to buy from him for these reasons. |

I agree, the prices are somewhat inflated. The jury is still out as the whether or not these patches are reproductions, replicas, or unauthorized. There is some similiarities to his activities with that of Randy Hunt as described in previous postings. If a particular patch was deemed popular or vintage original one day, then the next a multitude would show up for sale which could be suspicious. |

Case in point - EB 281099075220Considering the rarity of finding a REAL SpaceX authorized CRS-2 patch (there's only one known of in Europe that Chris/spacpatches.nl has a picture of via a connection with SpaceX itself) the seller has 8 (yes, eight with 12 already sold) of them listed with a Buy Now price of $16.50US + $2.00 shipping. No where does he state these are replicas, just that they are in "mint" condition. While he doesn't say so, these I believe, would have to be replicas. From where? Your guess is as good as mine! |
