Well, it is signed by a Notary Public so it must be real as notaries are experts in authenticating autographs. Shameful.

In my opinion, that note is authentic.

As some may know, in the past year a cache of Armstrong notes were released by what is assumed to be a former business associate. It contained many notes similar to this.

Before assigning any shame, please look at it again. The notary is testifying to the signature of James Spence (the authenticator), not the signature of Neil Armstrong. The idea is to demonstrate that the LOA is not a forgery.

It's interesting to see how quick some are to trash an item (or letter of authenticity) when they don't really know what they're talking about.

The Armstrong note looks fine, as Steve noted. It matches his writing on personalized photos perfectly. I wonder what makes someone concerned about it other than not seeing the version of "Neil" they expect.

And, as Spence's letters clearly state, the notary is attesting to the fact that Spence himself signed the letter, nothing more. You just have to read....
