Apparently this is Jack Swigert's flight suit?

So, he flew into town in a T-38 and just left it hanging in a closet?

Military collectors have a well-used saying, "buy the item, not the story". I don't buy the story at all. Why would you wait this long to sell?

The tag is clearly not a military one, that seems odd to me.

Also, I'm not 100% sure about the patch layout on the suit, either. I'd like to hear some space patch gurus chime in on the subject.

I have no idea about the suit but his signed photo looks perfectly fine so I guess its possible. I would love to hear from someone far more knowledgable than me about it.

First time seller on eBay too. It looks very... new. I wouldn't pay the opening price for it personally.

I am certainly no expert, but gosh that suit awefully new. The patch seems to be brand new in appearance as well. Unless there is some kind of documentation it is just another story.

Here are a couple of images of Swigert in a similar suit: 1 | 2

Apart from the addition of a 4-inch Apollo 13 patch, the rest of the items match.

While I admit I would pay $.99 for it, what is neat is the white flight suit that Fred has on.

Though alone it says nothing about the authenticity of the suit, the mission emblem is a commercial Lion Brothers' hallmarked-patch, rather then the crew version of the patch that was worn by the Apollo 13 astronauts on their post-flight jump suits.

Might be he had to get out of town in a hurry

Well, wasn't Swigert the bachelor of the crew, if I remember the Apollo 13 movie correctly? Not to mention, he forgot to file his taxes, too. Maybe he wooed a girl whose father was also the county tax commissioner.

It's a moot point because it got yanked before the closing date. I wouldn't have bid on the thing...
