Can I ask if anyone has buying experience with the seller In Studios (China) for the Apollo astronauts resin models?

Seller has some poor feedback from a couple of recent transactions (not the astronaut models, other he sells), so I don't want to put good money into these models unless they are okay.

NewWare are quite expensive to buy from these days two 3"inch figures for around $100 (including VAT and shipping)!

I'm sure someone here may have bought them? Thank you.

I have bought two and had no problems with either purchase. I am no resin expert but the detail is good, little flash or molding overcast and the price is great. I'd recommend them.

Thank you for replying — they look good on eBay but anyone can make something look good on eBay I guess.

There is always an element of flash and alike as long as there are no major pin holes in the resin that is great!

I will buy some they seem to be very good value given the price of similar castings. Thanks again.

Are these original molds or are they authorized/unauthorized copies of other artists' works? That might also be a consideration when deciding what to buy...

Theses are 1/16 resin kits — the only others I have seen have been EVA resin astronauts which were a much smaller scale.

They look like the ones Pascal Hecker uses in his work (???) but I cannot say that with certainty.

I don't know of any copyright issue or surely they would not be on eBay? Just like building and collecting them.

Well they are from China so the fact that they are for sale doesn't imply they are legal reproductions. Maybe they are copies of the Reheat 120mm models but I am not familiar with those or any reproduction issues. I would appreciate knowing so if anyone else is familiar with these....

NO they are not from me. I have copied my own real Reheat version for myself, not for sale as a kit, and I change them in other pose.

If they in China make one change on the original (very little) than it is becomes another model and is it another ball game over copyright.

No, not quite, not in the eyes of the law; but what those who do such things are counting on is that the difficulty and expense of suing them to defend the proper copyright would exceed the potential return.
