I am looking for info on an Apollo 14 signed cover. Did they autopen or copy the signatures on any of these? The one I have is signed but it doesn't quite match up to other covers I have researched.

There were covers that were autopenned, and there were others that were authentically signed.

If you can share a scan or photo of the cover (instructions for posting here), we can help you identify what it is you have.

The Apollo 14 crew "signed" covers above were popular during the mission here at the Florida Space Coast, home of NASA's Kennedy Space Center.

They were produced by NASA Exchange and were mostly available to space center workers here. Others, however, made their way into other local outlets outside the space center's own souvenir and gift shops.

The signatures of the Apollo 14 crew beneath the mission emblem were part of the cachet printing, or better-known as facsimiles, and were not hand-signed.

Thousands of them were printed for the Apollo 14 mission, mostly for launch, in Jan. 1971.

All times are CT (US)
