I just found this one on eBay and everything looks good to me, except for the date of the original envelope they supposedly were sent in. I think I'll message them to point out the possible discrepancy. I wonder how long NASA used these envelopes? Since the envelope is such an insignificant part of the package, it wouldn't stop me from bidding on them.

If you ask me they are bogus. I'm no expert but I think they are written by 2 different hands. Considering Armstrong did not join NASA until 4 months after the date of the envelope, and that the portrait was not taken until 1969. So why say stored in original envelope? I think might be secretary or straight out forgery.

The date ("May 62") refers to when the envelope style ("form") went into use, not when it was sent. I have an example of a different NASA form created in 1982 that was still being used in 1998.

Armstrong's secretary did not sign for him. Very few of the astronauts allowed their secretaries to autograph photos for them.

If they weren't available to sign themselves, then the autopen was used.

Both sets of signatures/inscriptions look good to me.

The first name only inscriptions make them pretty appealing to collectors - especially the David I would imagine - but they should really be sold separately.

The "t" stroke is different, the dash is different, the "L" is different, the "u" is different, and so is the "c" & "k". In the one inscribed to "Terry" the "G" has a pause in it, the "ATG" in both are a lot different which if they were sent at the same time would not be? Like I said. I'm no pro but its a little weird. Maybe I'm wrong.

Not even Armstrong could sign his name identically two times, even if the signatures were signed seconds apart from each other. And while Armstrong had various signature "styles" through the years, these two signatures are identical in "style" to each other and look pretty good to me (though the price seems quite optimistic, at least to anyone other than David and Terry).

To echo other opinions here (and unless these are copies of some sort) these are both exemplary and authentic Armstrongs; only the price would give me pause.
