This is a "heads-up" for those who think that the only non-authentic Armstrongs being offered are forgeries.

I recently submitted this Armstrong signature to Steve Zarelli for authentication. Steve determined that this is actually a laser print or some sort of copy. He noticed that when viewed under magnification the pixels are visible.

The reverse side of this card has a stamp from "Authenticated Autographs". I googled and found a website of that name. They offer a service where you can type in the item # to verify it is in their file system.

This particular number returned a "item not found" response. I am not sure that the site I found is the same as the company that issued this authentication, or if even the "Authenticated Autographs" stamp is a copy as well.

Has anyone ever heard of or done business with this company?

I no longer have it in front of me to double check, but I believe the stamp on the back was original and not a copy.

Unfortunately, as technology advances, it will make it harder to distinguish printed copies. Only under personal inspection will you be able to get a better idea if what you have is real. The reputation of the persons you deal with will be even more important, as well as their skills with spotting these sorts of things.
