What do you think of these? Looks like forgeries to me.

Did you notice that McDivitt signed as "Apollo 10 CDR"?

It is Apollo 9 (IX), but the signatures? Jim McDivitt nearly always signs in green ink doesn't he?

I think it was common for Jim McDivitt to sign in green ink when he was at NASA but since then any colour goes.

Here again, just like his Irwin offereing, all are bogus in their signatures and inscriptions, just from my own opinion.

Most (if not all) of the vintage McDivitt stuff from the 60s is not signed in green ink. The green ink signatures came later.

Having said that, it does nothing to legitimize the piece up for discussion. It's an obvious forgery from a seller who apparently has an endless supply of suspect pieces. (The seller used to go under other names, such as "rockride," before being shut down.)

I sent McDivitt a Space Shots card back in the 90's and he sent it back signed in black ink.

I messaged the seller that the Apollo 9 signatures were forgeries. His reply:
"Thnx 4 the last minute drive-by!"

Cross atomsmasher3249 off my sellers list.

Rick is right. Jim will sign in green if asked, and a green pen is handy.

He only used green while at NASA, so at first glance, you couldĀ tell memos came from the Program Manager, and was important.

McDivitt used green ink also after his leaving NASA, and pretty much through the point in time where he stopped signing through the mail at all.

The eBay lot has been pulled from ebay in the meantime, by the way...

All times are CT (US)
