Searching for Sieger Armstrong block or full set and these two individuals have popped up recently:
  1. 130756547369
  2. 221116878419
I'm a relative newbie so looking for opinions from those who probably have at least 1 in their collections. Neither auction has the Sieger certificate included. Thanks.

In my opinion they both look fine.

They both look good!

Should be interesting to watch the price of these stamp blocks now... they seemed to sell at $1700 sometimes before his passing (but also as low as $600 on eBay...)

Great feedback so far. Does the lack of the certificate make that big of a difference on value? I know authentication in general and CoA's are often not seen as more than just paper to a lot of people. Thanks!

Sieger never issued a certificate for any of his signed stamp blocks. He did include a small sheet of paper with printed information about the stamp block and also the remark that the stamp block has been signed by astronaut x. It's not what we understand today as a COA however in those days nobody had the need for a COA.

Many people threw away that paper slip, by the way. So in this case it shouldn't make a difference in value.

I've got a complete set of Sieger stamps with all the slips on the way. If your interested just drop me an email. I'll only charge a little less than what I have into it. I just have a bunch of other things I'd like to get at the moment.

I don't think there were or are any Neil Armstrong forgeries on this kind of stamp block, but I may be wrong?

The unsigned stamp blocks appear quite regularly and a big favourite with forgers, so yes, forged versions are common.

This is the only Armstrong item that I have collected over the years and am happy to say that I own four of these and two complete sets of stamps with inserts also.

I purchased a near complete set missing the Armstrong for just over $200 a couple of years ago. I wish I hadn't waited on trying to complete it.

That isn't the case actually.

There were unsigned blocks that were in the market for sale and a few years ago. Armstrong forgeries came onto eBay. Only saw two but they were definitely about. Pretty poor attempts however...

I am unsure however how many unsigned blocks were actually printed.

On edit: cS thread on the issue may be of interest.

Thank you cS community for your knowledge and availability. I'm am now lucky enough to have the full set thanks to fellow member JasonB. I wish I had stumbled upon these resources earlier in my relatively new space collecting hobby and look forward to viewing these pages/message daily moving forward.
