Two Apollo 11 patches have been listed. Anyone know who made these? One is a mission patch, the other a 25th anniversary version of the same patch. They look to be LB, but there's difference between LB's and these. Haven't seen these, although the 25th anniversary seems vaguely familiar from somewhere. Wondering on their origin and if you know, their value. |

First one is the Voyager Emblems version. The 25th anniversary could be a Randy Hunt edition. |

Yes, I agree with Chris on these two Apollo 11 patches. The same seller has also listed two versions of the LM-5 25th Anniversary patches as well, they too could well be Randy Hunt's manufactured patches? |

Thanks, Chris and Kevin!I suspected as much. And now that you point out that the first one is a VE, I agree. I don't know why I didn't see that - I've got one at home! The second, while it looks vaguely familiar from somewhere, I coudn't put my finger on it. It makes perfect sense that it's a Randy Hunt patch. Live and learn! You guys rock. |

The 25th anniversary patches are probably John Randy WAGNER, a patch lover like us, who made patches for NASA Langley, where he once worked, and for collectors under the name Eagle One Aerospace. He did have some problems delivering what he had promised, but he did not steal art!Randy HUNT was not yet around in 1994 - his main tools (internet and e-mail) were not for the masses and eBay did not yet exist. Those were still the days of simple black and white xeroxed 'catalogues' that you received in the mail. Hunt (4gator, Patches Etc.) first appeared on eBay in the Summer of 1998. Incidently, this was also the time that the other Randy disappeared from the scene due to health problems / financial trouble. His wife Mary A. Wagner (4my3suns, Cargo Bay Emblems) still ran his business for some time. |

Interesting. Great info!Maybe they are worth getting, given the price is right. In my sometimes rediculous attempt at record keeping through the years, I still have the catalogues I received from Eagle One back in the day. Ah, the memories! I do remember that E1A was a reputable company selling official and authentic patches. Oddly enough though, from my records, I don't show ever having purchased any patches from John. Maybe now is my chance! Due to my interest in Apollo 11, maybe I'll just put in a bid then... | |
