I've been collecting this particular cover signed by several of the key players in the Apollo 11 mission. I currently have separate covers signed by Armstrong, Collins, and Kranz. I also have a couple of spaceflori presentations on these covers - flown kapton and lunar surface flown film. I'm also considering sending one to Charlie Duke to sign as CAPCOM. My goal is to complete the set with an Aldrin signed copy of this cover but I have been unable to find one. I stumbled across this cover on ebay. Any opinions on the signatures? I cannot find any similar autopens but something looks a little odd about the Armstrong and Collins. Thoughts? |

Better than average forgeries on the Apollo 11 FDC. But comes with a Coach's Corner COA (never a good sign) and his "Pioneers to the Moon" Apollo 11 signed print is also a fake, but sounds impressive, as it comes with a COA and was certified by a "forensic document examiner." |

As Bob indicated, these are standard Coaches Corner forgeries (or given the slowness, a possible trace job). Sports collectors commonly refer to the source of these gems as "Coaches Commode."By the way, Coaches Corner COAs are banned from eBay, as well as anything from the "forensic document examiner" they use, Chris Morales. This seller probably knows this and this is why CC or Morales are not actually named in the text of these auctions. |

Thanks - that confirmed my gut feel about it!I'll keep looking for that Aldrin signed cover. I saw one on RR a while back but the max bid was WAY beyond what I could afford at the time. I guess if I'm patient I'll eventually complete my set. |

I did contact the seller expressing (false) interest in his Apollo 11 crew "signed" FDC and he did inform me that the COA was from Coach's Corner/Commode." |
