I am communicating with the seller to purchase this Armstrong display. It is eBay item number 190686680511. It is difficult to see thru the glass. I did not find any autopen matches. Any opinion would be appreciated. |

eBay shows the item as already sold. If you're the buyer, I think you were too hasty to pull the trigger on it without getting opinions first. From what little I can see of the signature in the blurry low-resolution photo, I have concerns about its authenticity. Regardless, I would never invest significant money in a signature without reviewing a clear and detailed scan. |

It is still avaliable as far as I know. I have asked the seller to send a scan. He is agreeable. I hope to get a better look at it soon. What red flags do you see? |

I can not speak to the authenticity of the piece, but even if it is real, the price is high. The signature looks very faded. The other items on the display are not worth a lot, perhaps the flown foil $100-$150, but you can not see what is there as far as the foil.It does not specify what type of materials were used in making the display. Is it mounted on acid free paper and is the glass a UV resistant archival quality. If not you would either not be able to display it as the signature will continue to fade, or you will have to get it re-framed using good materials. |
