Can anybody confirm the authenticity of this Bill Anders signed crew photo? |

It looks good to me. What'd it go for? |

I personally can't get comfortable with this signature. It could be real, but there are some characteristics in the signature you typically don't see in authentic Anders signature of this style (even keeping in mind the fact that Anders' signatures can vary quite a bit). With a "difficult" signature from a difficult signer, the best advice is to err on the side of caution. |

Just a thought, but when comparing to a autograph I got in person, there doesn't seem to be any trail-off at all to the pen stroke, everything just ends abruptly. Could this be a autopen? |

$556 (including buyer's premium).(I changed the link above to point to the original Regency Superior lot page.) |

I agree with Mark, that I couldn't be comfortable with this ($556) Anders signature either. Other than it coming from Regency, nothing is known about where it originally came from, who owned it, who consigned it and when it was signed. Buying such an easy to forge and inconsistent Bill Anders signature is more just hoping and trusting it's real than knowing. |

Thanks for the price update Robert.$556! WOW. Even if the signature was 100% good with Bill Anders delivering it to me that seems kind of high. I thought the signature looked good when I glanced at it, but it just goes to show you that it never hurts to ask and get a better set of eyes on something. |

The Anders is on the market again. Hmm. |

I must say that the Anders still looks good to me other than it not trailing off at the end. It simply looks like he mashed his signature in a tight space there and ended it abruptly because he was about to go over Borman's face.Is there something else about this signature that indicates its not good? Because I don't see any other part of it that looks particularly bad to me. I don't just mean a lack of story (that would make 99% of the Anders out there bad). I mean is there something concrete about this that makes it look suspect. Just wondering if I'm missing something. |

Trust me, that's not a detail that would concern Bill Anders. He often signed his photos with little regard for signature placement. |

It seems as though he intentionally signed in the area that offered the least contrast. How many times have we seen business suit poses signed in the lower right where there is terrible contrast as opposed to the upper left that would have offered a much better light, unobstructed background? |
