The Good News: At least there is no question that all of these autographs are authentic.

The Bad News: You have to deal with Destiny Space!

They have been selling under the name BlueprintPlace for quite some time now. I have purchased items from them. Robert has always taken care of me and I will deal with him again in the future.

Charles,

I'm glad you have had good experiences
however, I think you are in the minority. Authenticiy has never been a problem with him, it's the way he conducts business.

To each his own.

I understand that their history is decidely inconsistent, but I would note that every purchase that I have made with Destinyspace/blueprint has gone forward swiftly and smoothly.

Hi Fellas:

First of all, don't shoot me for this, fellas- I'm just being honest about my experiences with Destiny. In all candor, I must add my name to those of Charles, WA Walsh, and Jonathan, who have had positive experiences.

I have read about problems encountered by other group members (good guys like Bob and Gerry and others) and certainly believe that there must have been some problems somewhere down the line. Guys like these have credibility and don't just make up horror stories for the fun of it.

But I've gotta tell you, in all honesty, that I've never had a problem.

For the newer guys-some history (as best as I can remember): At one time, Destiny was pretty well used by many group members with good results posted on different groups. Heck, I only began using Destiny when some established and respected veteran collectors originally recommended Destiny and persuaded me to give them a try. I was a novice beginner collector and took their advice.

After I had several positive experiences, some collectors began to have problems and began posting horror stories. I think I remember reading posts that Destiny may have pre-sold some Buzz items, then their signing deal with Buzz fell through, leaving a bunch of guys out in the cold. But by that time, I had had several positive experiences.

One time recently, Destiny was late on an order and sent me a few free assorted signed 8 x 10s when he apologized for the delay. He's also sold me some great pieces dirt cheap. I recognize that Caveat Emptor, of course, is the general rule in any autograph collecting field.

I am not necessarily taking a position and I really don't have anything more to say about it, so please don't shoot the messenger if you dislike the message...Bob is right...To each his own. But I simply haven't had any problems.

Best to all and Peace,

Rob

Congratulations to everyone who has had nothing but good experiences with Destiny. You are the lucky ones! I truly wish that would be the case for all of us, however I fear that you are probably in the minority.

Some of my first astronaut autographs were gotten as Christmas presents from Destiny Space years ago. They were outstanding and I was very pleased. I did some more business with them, also with good success.

Unfortunately, then came a very bad experience. Long periods of no communication, endless out of stocks, an attitude that they really didn't seem to care, failure to deliver items, and their infamous "disappearing" acts (web site gone, phone disconnected, etc.) are all potential dangers you may encounter in doing business with this company. As a result, I will never deal with them again and honestly could not recommend them. There are enough other reputable dealers that properly operate their business and treat their customers with respect.

Again, the good news is that there is no question about the authenticity of the items sold by Destiny Space, but I think it is safe to say "buyer beware" if you actually do business with them.

I dealt with DestinySpace several years ago and did not have any problems at all. But that was a while ago. I have had no further dealings with them since discovering LunarLegacies!

Hello,
I've never done business with Destiny Space, but couldn't pass up a chance for putting in a plug for Donnis Willis at Lunarlegacies. He has been the source of many of my purchased autographs since I discovered his site. Donnis is great to deal with. Check him out if you haven't already.
Regards,
Mike

Thanks to all for the kind things written about me and my business. There is sometimes a short delay in my responses, but I do try to put customer service first, because there would be no business without you, and I greatly appreciate it. Having said that, I feel I need to throw my opinion out about Mr. Levin and Destiny Space.

I had never dealt with him previously until about a month and a half ago, and had heard many tales of dissatisfaction related to his business practices. However, Philip Young in the UK contacted me saying Mr. Levin needed money for law school and was offering him a large quantity deal, and Philip was wondering if I would like to help out since he couldn't afford it all. I was tentative, but decided to help. We made three deals in all, each about 2 weeks apart.

The first deal went smoothly, except for thr fact that Destiny never sent 2 of the signed photos that were promised, a Young and a Schmitt, which he promised to find and send, which never happened. The deal was good even without them, so we did another one with him.

The first deal was paid up front through Paypal, but for the second one, we decided to pay him half up front, and half when the items were received, and he agreed. Having been shorted on the first set of signed photos, we wanted some control over the situation for the next one.

The second deal went smoothly also. When the batch of signed photos arrived from Destiny, there were 4 or 5 missing from the promised amount. Philip and I deducted a prorated amount for these missing photos (but not for the earlier ones), and paid Mr. Levin the appropriate amount through Paypal with an attached explanation. He seemed cool with this.

The third and last deal went smoothly also it seemed. After an agreement was reached and one-half of the payment made, Destiny emailed Philip (I was never directly in contact with him although Philip forwarded all correspondence to me) that he could not find 10 of the promised Conrad signed photos, and had taken the liberty of substituting them for 6 Cernan's and 4 Mitchell's. To us, the Cernan's were a suitable substitute, but the Mitchell's were not adequate. He had already sent out the package, so they could not be changed immediately.

When the package arrived, all the promised items were present, except that 3 of the 4 substituted Mitchell's had smudged signatures and were then even more than ever unacceptable. Destiny agreed cheerfully in a subsequent email to exchange the 4 Mitchell's for 4 more Cernan's. With that promise and a tracking number, Philip and I sent the remainder of the payment.

Two weeks have now gone by and the Cernan's have not arrived and the tracking number given to us by Destiny is invalid. I'm sure in his mind he considers us even, simply because we could not find it within ourselves to accept his version of business integrity.

We are certainly not moaning about these events, because it was still a good deal for us, but instead wanted to shed light on Mr. Levin, Destiny and his manipulations.

In my brief experience with him, I've learned that honor is achieved by 95% compliance on a deal, and anyone who insists on him fulfilling his obligations is dishonorable and trying to take advantage. To combat us greedy customers, he nips around the edges of a deal subtracting this, substituting that, keeping one of each for his kids, promising to send this or that when found, and supplying invalid tracking numbers for non-existent packages. The package may well be lost in the Christmas rush, and the number sent simply a typo, but he has made no attempt to amended the tracking number or assure us the package was sent. I'm sure he considers this behavior a virtue.

Mr. Levin may be a great guy in person, I have no idea, but in my 3 dealing with him, and definitely my last ones, none were 100% satisfactory, and I consider his business practices quite wretched.

HI Donnis,

I'm sure you don't need it, but I'll add my vote of TOTAL customer satisfaction with your quality service. You have helped fill some big holes in my collection over the years.

I posted elsewhere on Collectspace (under Autographs) about my experience with Destiny. I bought an AP 12 "crew signed" piece in August and he still hasn't delivered - although he just made good another list member with the same item after 6 months! It seems he had a stock of AP12s signed by Conrad and Bean which he needed to send to Gordon for completion. However, he decided to advertise them as "complete" on ebay, take your money, and then let you sweat while he tries to get Dick to complete them.

Last week he listed the same litho - no doubt incomplete again - which to me ranks as fraudulent trading, ie selling something you don't have. Ebay of course, turn a blind eye and he refuses to return my money - simply saying that I will get my item.

Even if I eventually get my litho I will never deal with him again and would suggest others remain equally sceptical about his dubious commercial practices.

Hello everyone.
I would like to add my imput to the debate surrounding the business practices of Rob Levin at Destiny Space. You may have read in Donnis Willis's reply, shown above, that I was Don's partner in 3 transactions that took place between us and Destiny Space.
These deals came at the request of Rob Levin who was apparently seeking money for law school, and was therefore selling off large quantities of his stock in order to finance this education.
I actually knew of Rob already, having had a far from satisfactory experience with him about 18 months earlier, when he claimed not to have recieved a bankers draft from me for a $70 piece, which I never recieved. He was abusive to me on that occasion, and also threatened to leave negative feedback for me on Ebay, if I left negative feedback for him.
Despite that, I recommended the deal to Donnis, as it was simply too good to miss, but I did warn him of Destiny Space's reputation.
We therefore knew we were playing with fire to some extent, but figured that if he needed the cash so badly, we might get the service to go with our commitment to him.
Now, as Donnis mentioned, the deal went quite well, but what Don didn't mention was that we also had trouble getting completed Apollo 12 items from him too, a common complaint on this page. As many Collectspace readers have been told themselves, they were apparently out being signed by Richard Gordon.
Still, we were not told this at the time we placed our order, and I was very sceptical as to whether we would actually recieve them.
However, in our favour was the fact that our order had been worth several thousand dollars, and as Rob knew that if he looked after us we might be back, he did eventually send them to us a few weeks later, after I had told him that we would not entertain another order unless he did.
We subsequently went back for more, and again the deal was pretty good, and so we were tempted into a third order which was completed about 3 weeks ago.
As Don has mentioned, there were problems with all 3 orders, but we did get a fantastic deal nonetheless, and we can hardly complain having read the stories from other Collectspace members.
The point here though, is that Don and I placed over $12000 worth of business with Destiny Space to get the level of service we recieved, and a 95% completion rate just wasn't good enough for the commitment we made to him.
We deserved better, and having handled our side of the deals impeccably, we should have got better too.
Now, if he can't give a TOTAL service to someone like us, then what guarantee is there that those who only want 1 or 2 pieces will recieve any better than we did?.
The answer?. Absolutely none I'm afraid, which is why Don and I chose to post our comments on Collectspace, in a bid to provide you with enough evidence with which to decide for yourselves, whether or not you could trust Destiny Space to fulfil any order you might place with him in a professional, and honourable manner.
Don and I got lucky, despite the problems we had. But we will not be going back to the well for more in the future, no matter how good the deal might be, and if that doesn't tell it's own story, then nothing will.

Hi Paul,
I purchased a AP12 signed photo from Rob on June 1st. He had told me that they were out to Richard Gordon for signatures ever since I purchased the photo. After IM's to him every two weeks I finally received my photo completely signed last week. I hope you receive yours soon. He stated to me that he has gotten them back from Richard Gordon so you might want to try and contact him again.

Levin changes his ebay username every so often, when he sees negative feedback coming his way. I've been contacted by 2 non-list members who, like me, were duped by this inveterate liar. One of them is considering legal action against Destiny.
There is no doubt that in some cases he DOES deliver, but his attitude when you question why he has taken 6 months to get your goods to you, (and meantime refused to return your funds) is arrogant beyond belief.
Ebay of course is "powerless" to do anything about his fraudulent trading (ie. "keep those fees coming in, Robert, 'cos we don't give a s**t about the buyer").
Steer well clear - and if you have bought anything from him which doesn't arrive within 2 weeks, get onto the ebay fraud reporting system ASAP.

After 7 months of being p*ss*d about by Mr Levin I have finally filed a report with the National Fraud Information Center. I'd encourage others to do so: www.fraud.org. It doesn't matter if you are not in the USA. This came about as a result of being contacted by similarly defrauded buyers on ebay. Ebay don't give a stuff about his negative feedback, frequent changes of user ID and email address to avoid detection.
Let's hope this time several reports to NFIC put an end to his activities - and an end to his revenue flow to ebay

Well at least he isn't selling autographs anymore.
It is awfully tempting to see a Conrad or Dave Scott going for peanuts. Especially to the uninformed.

Take care - Danno

Hi,

What is Destiny Space selling now...I thought he had given up on autographs and sold his stock to other dealers.
Would this be a fair assumption ????

Hello All...It is my understanding in an email from "gliderpilotuk" Paul Bramley that when he told Ebay that Levin was once again doing business under the "blueprintplace" moniker that Ebay removed him !!! How about that ? Chalk up one for the good guys !! I am sure he will somehow reappear under another new name and selling moniker !! Be on the lookout !! Well done Paul !! Yeah that's him. Payment details ask for all cheques to be made payable to Rob Levin.
What's the best way to inform eBay?
