Offered on eBay, an Apollo 12 Command Module Space Camera Storage Locker.

Command module space camera storage locker, with serial R36-78706621, SC-108, belonging to "Spacecraft 108" otherwise known as "Yankee Clipper" of Apollo 12. This item was originally part of the Charles Bell collection.

It's designed to carry a 4-camera multispectral experiment S-158. Measuring 20"x20"x8, it's remarkably robust and in great condition, including the padding used to house the camera rig. The bi-fold door was a unique design that allowed access in the cramped space of the CM.

It's unknown if this case was temporarily installed in the flown command module for use as a training unit, but I like to imagine Alan Bean, Pete Conrad, or Dick Gordon using the latch on this thing during familiarity training.

Marked "NON-FLIGHT HARDWARE," to my knowledge, this is typical of the "R36" prefix, whereas components starting with "V36" are more typically Class II or Class I Flight Ready, as signaled in the Apollo stowage lists available online. If you have more info on this locker, please feel free to message me.

All times are CT (US)
