**** Update 13/10/2022 This item has been sold **** I have an early Mercury/Gemini style spacesuit glove that I am considering selling depending on what people are offering.I have photos of the glove on my Flickr account. Note: The glove does not have a wrist ring metalwork. The glove is located in Australia. Some additional information from a space suit expert: The glove you have is a very early Gemini glove – without the wrist wring it is difficult to tell absolutely, but it appears as though it was made originally by the B.F. Goodrich Company, and modified for Gemini use by the David Clark Company. The date would be the early 1960s, probably around 1963 or 1964... label says that it was made in May, 1963. The history is that BFG did not get the contract to build Gemini suits, but for a couple of years both BFG and DC had been working on Gemini suit development, and this glove would have come out of that period. The GG-1C means Gemini Glove – Model 1 – David Clark. Whereas the G-2-27 means Gemini Glove – Model 2 – B.F. Goodrich – number 27. Please reply/message me with you offers, or value assessment. |
