I represent the Military Ration Museum and we're working on documenting the history of food development for the military and related programs like NASA.

We have a few items from US and Russian space agencies, but we're looking to expand this portion of the collection to the point where we can have a sizeable display.

I've had an eBay account under this same name (Ruleryak) for 18 years and have dealt with at least one other member of collectSPACE for two purchases (four items total) so far.

Now for what we're looking for:

  • Any items related to in flight feeding. This could include flown or unflown galley equipment, food containers, packaging, etc

  • Photographs of feeding equipment

  • Photographs of astronauts eating in flight or in training

  • Any food, flown or unflown, related to the space program (or to U-2 flights).

We're specifically looking for named flights wherever possible. We do not have any Gemini food items and would love to cover that program as well as expand what we have from other programs.

  • Any books, booklets, pamphlets, etc related to feeding systems. We currently have some formerly classified manuals regarding the development of the original galley area for the shuttle program, and a number of press release booklets regarding food in space, but would be interested in technical specifications, design manuals, operation manuals, etc from the various orbiters and stations that would have had such equipment on board.
We are a 501(c)3 organization and can be found on GuideStar or CharityNavigator. While we expect to pay fair market value for any appropriate item, please keep in mind that any donated items would be considered fully tax deductible and we would very much appreciate any such generosity.

All times are CT (US)
