To coincide with the 10th anniversary of Moonpans.com, we are pleased announce the upcoming release of our first ever Space Medallion containing Flown Metal.

Later this week we will be making available for sale the 1.75 inch diameter Apollo 17 Medallions containing metal Flown To The Lunar Surface.

We had the 2000 medallions minted by Winco International with each side beautifully rendered in three dimensions, with a black enamel ring behind the text.

Each medallion comes with a protective plastic circular case, plastic stand and Moonpans COA card.

For more info or to get an email alert when they are on sale, please click here. Thanks.

Great looking medallion! What flown metal was used to produce these?

The metal used in the minting of these coins came from the rings that bound the pages of Lunar Surface Flown Checklist.

I ordered one today as well. These are very detailed and beautifully done. Are there any plans to do other Apollo flights?

We do hope to release more medallions from other Apollo missions, depending on the ability to find suitable flown metal. Any future medallions will most likely contain lunar orbit flown rather than surface flown metal

As for the Apollo 17 medallions the response has been overwhelming. Over 200 have already been sold and they have only been on sale for less than 24 hours!

Great looking medallion and, being a bronze finish, it will contrast nicely with the Apollo 17 40th medallion.

My medallion has landed today and it's STUNNING! It looks even better than the pictures. A lot of 'depth' to it which makes design really jump out at you

How much flown metal do the coins contain? Is there a certain part of the coin that contains the metal or was it mealted down and mixed in with other metal?

It's impossible to tell exactly how much flown metal each medallion contains, but the flown metal was first ground down to a fine powder then melted together with the unflown metal for the whole medallion, not just one part of it.

You can preview the shipping cost in the checkout of Paypal before committing the purchase.

Shipping for one Medallion to the USA should be about $7 and goes up in smaller increments for larger quantities.

The medallions are not shipped with tracking unless you purchase five or more.

As a guide, USA orders should arrive about 10 to 14 days after the purchase date.

I have just ordered two, but where exactly are they currently located? To put it another way, will they be posted to me by Royal Mail, or are they on the wrong side of the Atlantic and two weeks away?

Could I find them on sale at Autographica in Birmingham (without postal charges) while still waiting for my order to wing its way over the Atlantic?
