For a donation to One Giant Leap in the amount of $100.00 plus shipping, a signed, uninscribed copy of "An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth" (first edition, first printing) by former Canadian Space Agency astronaut Chris Hadfield. It also has his flight numbers. A cS member got this for me to help raise money for us. Scans available. The money goes to help bring astronauts up to Massachusetts and beyond. |

Forgive my ignorance, who or what is 'One Giant Leap' and how would one donate to them? Also, why?Sorry, but a link would have been helpful as I doubt I'm the only one here unfamiliar with the group/company/person you're refering to... |

The One Giant Leap website is currently offline, but you can read about the organization here.Bryan does a yeoman's work raising funds to bring astronauts to New England to speak to students and the community. A very worthy cause to support! |

I'd like to point out that at least at his NYC and DC signings, Hadfield just signed a person's name if they wanted personalization in addition to his signature. That's it. No "To XXX, Best wishes, Chris Hadfield." So getting something signed with his mission numbers is pretty special. And just as special is One Giant Leap. Just do a search for previous OGL threads to see the good Bryan does. |

Since you are buying this great book from a 501(c)3 non profit, you would probably be able to claim/deduct the difference between the fair market value and your cost as a charitable contribution. Just a thought, and you would be helping One Giant Leap to bring more astronauts to schools in New England. |

I just received my book back from one of the California signings. I asked for an unpersonalized book but added that "if possible" can he add his missions. the book came back with the very artful signature he uses plus a full line of his missions. All on the title page where i like them.I sort of decided not to pick up this book. However, Hart and others commented on the high quality of the writing so I changed my mind. It is now added it to the very large and growing stack of books. |

I just met up with a friend and he gave two new Hadfield books to use for donations. They were signed in NYC. They only have his signature. If you make a nice donation to One Giant Leap Inc. of $50 or more I will send the a book. We can figure extra shipping if overseas. |
