I am selling an Apollo 11 Mission Profile Poster called "One Small Step" that can be seen here. It is being sold through a crowd funding website called Kickstarter.

For those who don't know, while credit cards are taken on order, people are not charged unless the project is successful. To learn more about Kickstarter go here.

With this poster run, there is also the opportunity to purchase a poster of panoramas of tranquility base. When I showed the first posters to individuals people expressed interest in the panoramas. So I created a poster that just has those panorama enlarged to be as big as possible.

Also understand that Kickstarter project is going to till Dec. 5, 2013. It will be after Dec. 5 that your credit card will be charged, and the posters shipped. Also, if the project is unsuccessful (If I don’t reach my funding goal) your credit cards will not be charged and there will be no posters shipped.

The poster is $10 but on Kickstarter, the price includes shipping (which is $30 for a poster in Canada, $35 for United States, and $55 any where else in the world.). However, orders for multiple posters, the shipping prices doesn't change.

To order the poster go here. Let me know if you have any questions.

Please excuse me if I'm out of line, but I can't figure out this method being used! I suspect it has to do with getting funding to be able to afford the printing.

I love the poster. In truth it is probably worth the $35, but I feel something "sneaky" and therefore risky is going on.

Let me know when I can buy one and you send it to me guaranteed!

Thanks for your reply.

I am an independent designer based in Edmonton, who fell in love with the original poster from NASA that is based upon and so redesigned it to reflect the actual mission.

The thing with Kickstarter is to allow for project creator to gauge community support for a project. As a designer, I loved doing this poster. But the question I need answered is it a project others would love. Is there a demand for this poster? I don’t know.

I had some initial response when the project launched, but it has died down. I have to now put this poster in front of others to gauge their support. Considering the content of this poster, this is why I have come here.

I am not in a position to take the risk of fronting the cost of a poster run that might not sell. What Kickstarter does is to allows me to understand the demand and if there is a demand to collect funds for a pre-order that is transparent and upfront in how it works.

So there is two question then: do you trust the platform and do you trust me.

For the platform I am selling on I ask you do the research. I have provided the link to Wikipedia so you can start there.

Just so you know, I supported someone starting up there bakery and the next couple of weeks I will be getting some baking.

For me. Well I am an independent communication/knowledge sharing consultant based in Edmonton. My company website is Ktnexus.ca (which I should update with this project) and through there you can find links to some of the other work I have done.

Also I have included a link to the printer I will be using on my website. You can email them and find out that I have been working with them on printing this poster, even though I have yet to order with them.

I hope that helps.

To provide another example about the Kickstarter Platform here is another project that I found that may be of interest to people here: Help us build a satellite.

For the pledge of $200 you get Marc Garneau's autographed astronaut picture and help put a satellite in orbit. But they have some other goodies for helping out.

For $3000 you even get to name the satellite!

All the best!
