I have a beautiful $10 special for you this time.After the Apollo 1 fire NASA ran a series of full-scale flammability tests of the Command Module and Lunar Module to evaluate improved fire-resistant materials so that the Apollo program could resume flights. One of these fire-resistant materials tested and then used in the spacecraft was teflon-coated fiberglass lacing tape used to tie groups of wires and cables into bundles. I was able to get a section of this unflown lacing and I've created a limited edition certificate with a piece of the lacing approximately 1 inch attached. The certificate itself is 4 1/4" x5 1/2". The front and back are illustrated below. There are only 299 of these available. I've numbered each one. I'll send them out in the order I received requests, starting with certificate #10. Certificates 1-9 are being reserved for sale at a higher price. The price per certificate is $10. Shipping to the US is $1 and $2 anywhere else. If you order more than one, shipping remains the same for the entire order. So if you order 3 certificates, shipping to the US is still just $1 for all three certificates. Also included is a copy of the original letter of authenticity, on NASA letterhead, from the NASA employee who originally got the lacing. Payment by PayPal to paul@hartunian.com

If you placed an order for these certificates as of 12 noon Eastern time today (Monday) your order was received and shipped today. (If your PayPal account indicates that you sent payment to me I did receive it.)Orders are still coming in. They will go out tomorrow. Since so many of you ordered more than one certificate, I'm starting to run low. So I'm going to end this $10 sale this Wednesday night. The remaining certificates will go up for sale on ebay at a higher price. I posted one on eBay last night and it has already received an opening bid. So last call on these certificates. Glad you're all happy with your certificates.You may have noticed that I posted one of these on eBay. The auction closed yesterday with a final price of $44.77. So if you were one of the people who got one (or more) for $10, you got a great deal. |
