My oil painting "Eagle's Ascent" is now available as a limited edition artist signed and numbered canvas giclee print. In addition to the regular artist signed and numbered edition, offered here is a special Signature Edition of only 50 canvas giclee prints and 11 Artist Proofs signed by Apollo 11 Command Module Pilot Michael Collins. This painting depicts the Apollo 11 Lunar Module Eagle with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, returning to Mike Collins in the Command Module Columbia after man's historic first landing on the Moon. For information about ordering, and availability of gallery wrapped stretched canvas prints, email me here or here, or see callespaceart.com or chriscallefdc.com. |

This painting is stunning. Another Chris Calle triumph. I'm in for one. |

Again, I have to state about these two new additions from the masterful artisan of Chris Calle. These pictures don't do the justice they deserve and one would have to witness their beauty in person. Chris' ability to capture human's most exciting endeavor to date with a vision translated through each brush stroke leaves me transfixed and speechless. How fitting that both arrived today with one of them being the "Last Man on the Moon" in which the late Capt (USN) Gene Cernan made those final steps starting 45 years ago. The other being the Mike Collins signature addition, truly a work of art. Signed by the artist and by another artist who actually witnessed the moment that would become Eagle's Ascent is truly remarkable.

Picked up my finished framed edition. The lady at the store thought it was amazingly crisp for not being the original.Once I have it on display I will post a photo. |

My AP canvas editions of Chris Calle's "Eagle's Ascent", "Last Man on the Moon" and "Last Man" as well as Paul Calle's "The Great Moment" arrived yesterday. To reiterate other posts, the pictures of these do not do justice to these works of art. I am overwhelmed by their brilliance and clarity. They are visually stunning! Who was it said: "Photography can capture the moment, but art can capture the soul"? |

Again to reiterate what others have said — only when you see Chris's work in person does it do it justice. I received my canvas prints of "Eagles Ascent" and "Last Man" this week. It is hard to describe how realistic they both look in person. Both are so detailed and crisp it is almost like you can feel the hard vacuum of space in each. Nothing interferes between the viewer and the subject. Chris is a talent producing space art at a level I have not seen from any other artist. And there are some very talented folks in that category. I am amazed. |

I recall seeing an interview with Michael Collins many years ago when he said this image was one of his favorites. He called it, "There they are!", because in the picture were two people in the LM and then everyone else who had ever lived in the history of the planet on Earth... he had taken a photograph of everyone alive or who had ever lived except for himself. Heady stuff. And a very impressive work of art! |

I loved and bought the original "Eagle's Ascent" painting by Chris Calle and was so privileged to be invited to attend Apollo 11 Command Module Pilot Mike Collins signing of the original and help assisting while he signed these prints of "Eagle's Ascent" in silver.A beautiful and stunning painting of this iconic photo taken by Mike Collins of Neil and Buzz in "Eagle" close to docking with Columbia after the first historic moon landing. Chris has a unique talent and all that talent is here in this wonderful print. What better way to celebrate next years 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 than investing in great art and a print signed by Mike Collins. |

Chris, this is a wonderful interpretation of one of the most iconic images of Apollo 11. Are copies of the signature edition signed by Collins still available? |

Gee, I never got taken to Buzz's signature event when I bought Paul's original first boot print rendering. I always get the gristle of the meat. |
