I'm sick of getting outbid for this on eBay. Anyone have an as-new model in box set they're willing to part with for a reasonable agreed price?

Unboxed but as good as new...

Question: why do people buy them and leave them in a box?

I used to buy and sell Corgi and Dragon on eBay - when this model came out there were loads left on the shelf! Benefit of hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Lack of shelf place and once you get the model out and glued all the additional items (thrusters on the LM), how do put the model back into its box in case you'd like to sell it?

Pretty much what Chris said...I currently have room to display only about half the models I own. Also, while I don't buy models or any other space memorabilia as an "investment," I'd be a fool not to consider re-sale potential when buying. Hence, no "loose" purchases.
