Here is a 3 ring binder with autographs, pictures, charts, and all sorts of personal stuff I am selling in one unit on eBay. Please take a look at it and see if it is something you may be interested in.

I had a member here look at some of the photos (John) and you can read what he thinks about the stuff as well. Thanks and I hope I can find the right home for this cool collectable! Here is the eBay auction.

Yes, indeed, an interesting binder collection mostly pertaining to P&W's fuel cell program for Project Apollo, however, the depicted signed letters by Anders, Mueller, and Myers all appear to be b/w photo copies of the originals. But I never did see a picture of Cernan signed from the highlighted group.

For the record, I never gave my permission for my name to be associated with this auction.

The gentleman contacted me with questions, and I answered his questions in what I thought was a private correspondence. If anyone is looking at buying this lot, please do not take any representation of me being an "expert" as a reason to either purchase the lot or not.

Like most collectors here, I know some stuff about space memorabilia, but I don't think any major auction houses will be beating down my door any time soon asking me to start authenticating for them.

I guess I'll need to start including "Please do not reprint my response in whole or in part without my expressed permission" in any future correspondence with folks I don't know personally.

Yeah, you need to do that. I learned that same lesson after people would ask me to authenticate the works of a cartoonist I'm considered a relative expert on. Now, I insist on being paid for authentications other than museums or for personal friends of mine (or if I'm in a really good mood) and the clear understanding my name not come into play when trying to sell the stuff off unless someone has paid me for the right to quote me.

I can't believe that someone with 665 sells on eBay would be so clueless about the etiquette of asking for opinions that he'd copy and paste six long paragraphs out of an e-mail into his listing.

Sorry to see a lame hijack of you genuinely trying to help somebody understand what they had. But, I had to actually laugh about this one...

(quoted from ebay auction)
"I scanned some of the items and sent them to a space aficionado and expert John *** a person I found on "CollectSpace"'s website"

But, in your own email words, a few paragraphs down...

"My guess would be $40-50 bucks each, but I am not an expert so you may get more or less."

You yourself state and its printed in his ebay auction that "I am not and expert" and he's claiming you are at the top! I can't believe that he didn't even try to clean up the email what so ever. Not only was it a free estimate but if they're bad autographs we can just blame John since he said so on his email?! WOW

All times are CT (US)
