I have been listing some space patches on eBay. I'm doing a little clean out to focus a bit. My seller and cS ID are the same (benguttery). Time to pass some of this good stuff along. Ben |

Apparently several finger slips. Sorry. Will also be changing auctions to more clearly state they are open to non-US bidding.I revised the 51-G listing. Actually had to cancel and relist. Sorry bidders. It is available again. I looks like I will have to do that to allow for non-US sales. Can those of you outside the US see and bid on these? If not, I can revise them all. If you can, I will leave them alone. |

I don't see any issue with the size of the lots. I've got bids on a couple of 'em! It's good to tailor the size of the lot to what's in them -> 1 or 2 rare patches to a lot and several more common ones in another. Good going! |

Listed a 2000 Group 18 Astronaut Class Patch, several very large back patches, and two SMEAT patches last night. Both SMEAT patches are from a NASA Safety Engineer. Did I mention the beta cloth patch is signed by the crew?

Some nice patches there but why is the Snoopy Apollo Radar Subsystem patch (251197955419) selling for over $240?I've not seen one before but I would assume it's a Randy Hunt patch. It certainly doesn't look vintage. I really don't understand why people looking at this kind of patch assume it's vintage and bid so high on it. |

I certainly agree with Chris -- in fact, the original art this modern patch was based on has the name over the doghouse door as "Snoopie." |

Don't worry, it does not appear this sale will occur. It did get 12 bids with something like 8 of them over $100.Does anyone know with certainty that either Randy made this patch? I don't have it in either of their catalogs I've compiled and noted that it certainly might be a collector-made patch in the listing. If any of the bidders want it, please let me know. It will likely be relisted. Coming up: Canadian personal patches (original and repro together, side-by-side), Soviet and Russian. Happy Christmas to all! |

I've been doing some patch house cleaning and have just started using eBay's Global Shipping program. Let me say it sounded very attractive from the seller's point of view. However, when I saw the fees being charged to international bidders, I was shocked. So, my apologies folks. I will discontinue using it after this week. If you are the high bidder and don't wish to pay all the fees, let's talk about working something else out. I tried to remove it from the auctions, but once something has a bid it is locked on. If needed, I will cancel transactions for internationals to make other arrangements. I have not been able to look up the buyers' costs, but as I recall an example was a $25-30 patch had the same number of dollars needed for customs, shipping, and other fees. eBay allows sellers to send to a central collection point in the US so we only have to pay domestic postage. The buyer gets all the others costs like those of the third-party vendor who relabels the package, ships, imports, etc. |

Yes, I know exactly what you are going through as I had to eventually scale back my International selling. Now I make sure that the buyer is 100 percent sure what the shipping cost will be ahead of time when the item is going overseas. Too many times there was this shock (especially to the buyer who may not buy much on eBay) at what the shipping cost was. As an example, I shipped a book with a final price of 4.00 and it cost 24.00 to ship it to Austria. I just couldn't go any lower on the shipping based on size of the book and weight. |

If you're selling small lightweight items like patches then as long as they're relatively low value it shouldn't cost more than a couple of dollars to ship a single patch anywhere in the world.If the patch is valuable then registered mail will boost the price a bit but not to $25-30. Sounds like this Global Shipping program is just a big rip off for overseas buyers. |
