For sale: - I have a 16MM film that is housed in a about a 7" metal container. It has a sticker on it that simply reads "Skylab...2...16MM." I am not sure if that means SL 2 or possibly the 2nd of 2 reels! It came in the many boxes of photos (etc) I got from the JSC years ago.
The reel of film is about 1 inch surrounding the 3 inch or so center piece that would fit onto a projector. I have NO IDEA what is on this reel. I thought of having the contents transferred to DVDs (the cost is not great to do so especially if you have a Sam's Club near you and they can add music if one desires to do so), but I am selling it instead as a "POT LUCK" item. It may be gold, it may be lead! Kinda like playing the lottery. All I can say is "good luck". The price $90 plus shipping. I also have for sale three NASA books... - The first two (will sell as a set only) are identified as NASA SP-129 and NASA SP-171. They are a complete history of the Gemini Program. The actual name is "Earth Photographs from XXXXXX". The first volume covers GT-3 through GT-5. The second volume covers GT-6 through GT-12. They are loaded with a great deal of information on the flights and lots of beautiful pictures.
The books are in very good shape with just very minor toning to the red hard covers. For their age, I would grade them 9 out of 10. The pages are crisp and clean. They are each about 1/2 an inch in thickness (not including the covers). Two wonderful reference books. The price for both would be $200 plus postage. They are heavy! - The other book NASA SP-263 is called "The Mariner 6 and 7 Pictures of Mars." It discusses the mission in detail and has many images giving man early pictures of the Marian surface from space. Its red hard cover is faded and while the pages are crisp and clean, the exposed edges are toned. It is just 1/4 inch (not including the covers). A great reference book which is priced at $50 plus postage.
