This is just a friendly reminder for all sellers who use Paypal (regardless of whether it's an eBay transaction or not) that Paypal's policies for receiving money stipulate that no surcharges be added for using Paypal's services. The language of Paypal's User Agreement states:

4.6 No Surcharges. You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions.

Might be a little hard to sell here seeing how state flags were running around the $750 range during the "great buy" period as I call it.

Have to say that I find it rich that eBay ban you from passing on the cost of selling and then try to get you to sign up to yet another service to drum up more fees for them with that Global Shipping Program.

Up until Jan. 27 of this year, both Visa and Mastercard banned retailers in the U.S. from imposing a surcharge on consumers when they used a credit card to make a purchase. A legal settlement led to the credit card companies changing their policies.

It may be that PayPal will follow suit to stay competitive...

This is the same seller, indicated in the original Gemini IV flag thread, who immediately flipped a Gemini IV US flag for $2000 on eBay. In addition to this California flag, the seller also tried to flip a North Carolina flag.

To me complaining about someone selling something and quoting the price it used to sell for is like complaining about someone selling a Armstrong for more than the $2 in stamps they paid to get it in 1992. Unless you can build a time machine the days of getting this flag for $750 from Novaspace are just as over as the days of getting Neil Armstrong for $2 in stamps.

You can embrace the facts and say congrats on getting a good deal (as you should) or you can bang your head against the wall but no matter how hard you wish or complain about it, that's the reality and it's never going to change.

Oh, I purchased my flag at the "great buy" sale and will enjoy it for a long time.

I guess I should capitalize on my extra set of SpaceX patches that were purchased for $30.... = $250 for the "suckers" who didn't purchase them fast enough because I was too busy buying them up for flip purposes only....haha

All times are CT (US)
