For sale: - This item is a certificate that has a large piece of Launch Complex 14 attached to it. LC-14 was used to launch the Mercury-Atlas orbital missions. The certificate is in mint condition.
The artifact is 1 11/16 x 3/4 inches and is from the cableway that ran up the side of the Service Tower. It still has some of the original red paint showing. SOLD - This Apollo 16 Insurance Cover is signed by John Young, Ken Mattingly and Charlie Duke using the same black felt tip pen (probably signed at the same time by the three astronauts) and is cancelled on April 16, 1972, the day of the Apollo 16 launch. The cover and signatures are in pristine condition.
It is from the personal collection of Walter J. Kapryan, the Director of Launch Operations at the John F. Kennedy Space Center from 1969-1979. Best offer over $1000. Offers accepted for the next 7 days. Note that one of these covers sold for over $1900 at an auction in 2011 and another sold for over $1600 in 2008.
