Astronaut Tom Jones will be visiting our elementary school in late February to give two presentations to the students about his experiences, his knowledge of the solar system, and how trying hard in school can provide more opportunities. We're pretty darn excited! He's agreed to sign some photos, and this is why I'm posting here. I have four hi-res photos of him and his missions, but I'd like for them to have some context when they are hanging up. Could somebody knowledgeable in the appropriate software (Photoshop? GIMP?) help us by adding captions I'll write to the images I send you, and cropping them to 8x10? I think that somebody who knows what they're doing could take about twenty minutes to do a great professional-looking job, whereas I could blunder for an hour and they'd still look lousy. We'd really appreciate it! If you notice this and know a cS member who is really good at this kind of thing and might help, please send him or her the link to this post. |

If the existing photos are okay for 8x10 printing, adding contrasting text (any font / any colour / any size) is a simple enough exercise in Paint.NET. There are some great instructions here. I'm happy to help if you wish. |
