Jim McDivitt brought us a bunch of flown flags (4x6 inches) from both his flights, Gemini IV in 1965 and Apollo 9 in 1969.From Gemini IV we have American flags plus most states and most countries (as of 1965). Flown Gemini artifacts are particularly rare, owing to severe space and weight constraints. Indeed, Gemini flown flags of states and countries have never been offered for sale before. All of these flags are priced to sell. Most all are 50%-90% below norms. To see what's available go Astronaut Central. You'll need to call 800-727-6682 to order (not available for online ordering.) Professional framing is available. Prices good until Nov. 30, 2012. — Kim & Sally Poor |

Kim, are you updating inventory chart daily? These seem to be going quickly. |

Just received one of the country flags today — signed and inscribed as flown by McDivitt — it looks stunning! This is an amazing opportunity to get a flown Gemini artifact at a great price. Thanks Kim for making these available!! |

We're trying to do it whenever we sell one, so it's pretty current. |

Just received the GT-4 flown Dominican Republic flag. Great Mcdivitt inscription. Another outstanding Novaspace/Astronaut Central deal. Two questions: - Is the McDivitt signature on the COA printed or hand signed?
- What is Kim's next surprise?

Got my Cambodian flag today (it actually got to the post office on Friday and I was able to pick it up today). Great job of packaging. Thanks for putting this together. |

To answer David's questions: - They are printed, not hand signed. Still cool COA's though with a lot of info.
- Neil Armstrong's PPK and flags he flew. All at a reasonable price (hey, it's free to dream. )

The McDivitt sig on the COA is printed. We couldn't have Jim sign hundreds of certificates saying he signed the flags. Where does it end?Next will be an unusual Alan Bean giclee, Spacefest tickets will go on sale, and maybe a signing. |

Okay, I have purchased the State flag of Kansas and I am going to make my own presentation. Where do I download high resolution photos of Ed White's space walk? Thanks in advance. |

Well, I was wondering how long it would be before someone would decide to cash in on the great values that were offered to us by Mr. McDivitt. While anyone can do whatever they feel like, I think it can hamper the opportunities that other astronauts to include Mr. McDivitt from selling us their collections at very fair prices. I was lucky to purchase a flown Gemini IV flag and wish I had purchased one from Apollo 9. I think it is a little sad to see a Gemini IV flag already for sale on eBay for double what they were selling for a week ago. This is just my opinion. |

I suspect McDivitt did not have any delusions that these flags wouldn't be bought-and-resold by some. I'm sure he and Novaspace just settled on a price-per-flag that they thought was fair for their mutual interests. |

Thanks, I think I will enjoy the flag, it is at the post office, I will pick it up tomorrow. This is my second flown flag. The first is an STS-6 Flown American flag presented to Gene Kranz on a presentation card with a flown patch too. And thanks for the links to the photos. I found just what I was looking for. |

It would seem that they settled on prices that would sell the flags quickly. I seriously doubt anyone like McDivitt would be turned off by someone reselling the flags. If he was he either wouldn't sell them or he'd jack the price up. He had a bunch of flags to sell and probably just wanted to get rid of them without spending three years trying to sell them all. |

We are very, very lucky collectors. The words I have for the person who is already selling one of the flags on ebay cannot be printed. People like that have no soul. I am excited to receive my flag and I will treasure it always. |

I picked up a flag that represents the homeland of my mother's ancestors. I imagine this flag is the first flag from our ancestral homeland that was ever flown into space. It is now, instantly, a family heirloom. It will not be available for sale in my lifetime. |

I recently received an Apollo 9 Texas flag from Novaspace, and again, it is wonderful! It is strange because all of my flags are either USA, Kansas, or El Salvador. I really have no connection to Texas but Apollo 9 was rather limited.Which leads to my question: why were there so many more Gemini 4 flags and why did Jim McDivitt wait this long to offer all these? Well, Texas is the home of Johnson Space Center so I guess my flag has at least a little connection to me |

We met Jim at the ASF show, and asked him the same question. He answered honestly, that he'd forgotten about them until the box containing them turned up in a recent move of home. They'd been packed away during many earlier moves.I feel the same, I bought a US and NL flag, and will treasure these as near unique historical pieces. Many thanks Jim and Novaspace! |

The whole experience of acquiring one of Jim McDivitt's flown GT-4 flags was made all the more pleasurable by dealing with Sally, Kim and Co. at Novaspace. Those guys are just top notch |

Wow, that's insane. I thought he hadn't distributed them because he had been assigned to the Apollo 9 crew and hence why there was no time to distribute them. I figured the lack of Apollo 9 flags meant that he had time after that flight to distribute those and just never got around to the Gemini 4 flags. Either way, I think he knows that all those flags are now in good hands. And I echo what everyone has said and I said earlier: Novaspace continues to be one of the few bright and awesome spots in the space collecting world. What an excellent staff. |

Thanks, gang. Jim also has a box of checklists, somewhere. As one of the original Apollo and Gemini guys he had offices in Houston, Kennedy, Boston, Palmdale, Downey, St. Louis, New York... and lost track of many things, which eventually turn up. By the way, the ENTIRE Apollo 9 crew, the last living crew signing, will be at Spacefest V. |

I sat down at the Thanksgiving dinner table with my 88 year old mother and told her of this flag I was picking up. She looked at me like I was the most important man in the world to have access to and the ability to own such an important artifact. I tried to explain that it wasn't me, but a man in Tucson AZ that set it all up. She just kept looking at me like her son was some kind of a VIP. Thanks Kim, Sally and all. |

What a great opportunity to own something that has flown in space, let alone a banner representing your home country. I'm sure Doug and others will pass down these artifacts to the next generation of space collectors in their families! |
