I have two sets of Apollo insurance covers, and want to sell one. Today, I want to first offer the Apollo 11 here, and if there is one you need let me know. I only have one Apollo 13, and am holding it. I'm asking $9000, and can send scan and provenance if interested. Thanks. |

You may want to check the authentication of this Apollo 11 cover. It does not seem real. All three signatures are way off, especially the Collins and Aldrin. |

Thank you, Whoever wants the provenance I will gladly send it. This cover is harder to attain, and more rare than the ones commonly seen. I am listing the item on eBay tomorrow, at a higher buy it now price, but cS members get it for the lower price advertised here. |

Sorry, but I completely disagree. The signatures on this cover have all of the correct "tells" for being an authentic signed insurance cover. |

I could be wrong. But these signatures look very close to the ones on the Opinions thread right now. |

I typically try to stay out of sales threads, but I have to chime in when I see doubt being cast on a perfectly good item. In my opinion, these are textbook era signatures for an insurance cover. There isn't the slightest whiff of anything atypical with them. |

I'll second that; No question about them all being authentic. While many of the Apollo 11 NASA-EXC cachet covers were indeed crew signed before their famous lunar voyage, I have always thought that perhaps a few hundred more of them may had been post-recovery signed while the first moon men were in quarantine! It was reported that the first lunar landing crew did in fact sign hundreds of covers while in quarantine from late July to mid-August 1969. What type of covers were signed during this 18-day isolation-quarantine period is still a mystery. Were there more crew insurance type covers signed, or covers mailed in to Houston from enthusiasts and collectors, or perhaps even a whole different type of batch? |

Price lowered for cS members to $7900. I will allow up to six installments if needed. This price represents a sale at approximately $6500 at an auction house. This is your chance to complete your collection! |
