I just picked up some 45 RPM records (to those who are not old enough to remember them, that is the small record with the big hole in the middle) narrated by Hugh Downs.

The cover says "Commemorative Record of Apollo 11 Flight". "First Man on the Moon, July 1969". It shows a LM (artist concept) on the cover and on the back is a reproduction of the plaque left on the Moon by the crew.

Not sure when these were produced as I can't find a date, but I would imagine close to the event. Does anyone know?

They are in pristine condition for playing and other than the fact (as was typical with 45 RPM records) the corners of the paper which is square and with a round record in side have VERY minor indentations from the record... I would grade the covers 9.5 out of 10. No longer will I ask for pricing help, so they are $25 each plus $5 shipping in the US. A steal or a ripoff, you be the judge. I would prefer you contact me by e-mail but I will check cS from time to time to see if anyone makes a post. Thanks...

I bought my copy when it was first released. In the fall of 1970, I used it to create a cassette tape of man's first landing on Mars for a class project. My teacher loved it so much that she gave me an "A" on my project.

The record could have been released in 1969, but I know I used mine the following year, if that helps you any.

This inspirational record can be found on Youtube, if anyone wants to preview it.

Thanks for the information about the approx. date of release. Please view the site on YouTube, then buy a record from me. Sold one yesterday. More to sell and I will now go to YouTube to see what it sounds like and what I am selling. If one can get an "A" for $25 plus shipping it is a steal. It can also be used as a coaster on ones coffee table. lol

I have one of those records in awesome shape. It came with a commemorative album for the Apollo, 8, 9, 10 and 11 missions.
