Would anyone be interested in a copy of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon" by Bob Ward? This book auctions for between $200-300. If interested, I have an extra copy and will sell for a reasonable offer. |

In answer to some questions, this book is in paperback and was only issued in paperback form. It has a ton of unknown and funny facts about NASA, scientists and astronauts and events that happened during the early rocket days, Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions. I will sell for ~$75. I hope this helps for the people who contacted me. |

I was at a panel a while back at which Bob Ward was participating, and someone was kidding him about the fact that when this book came out, he was really disappointed that it went straight to paperpack, with an initial cover price of like 25 cents. Hopefully, he feels vindicated by the sort of auction prices Richard mentioned.------------------ http://www.hatbag.net/blog.html "America's challenge of today has forged man's destiny of tomorrow." - Commander Eugene Cernan, Apollo 17 Mission, 11 December 1972 |

Hi there: This book can't possibly be priced that high, can it? I routinely see these pop up at our Library Used Book Sale for 50 cents each. I've got one myself. Rob |

Rob,I will gladly buy any of the copies you find. I will have to look at the last auction results, but the last time I saw it up for auction, it was much more than my price. In fact, I was speaking to Bob Ward about this. He told me that he has been watching the auction prices for his book and was extremely excited about the auction results. Yes, he does feel vindicated. However, he said that he did wish that he had kept more copies for himself. He only has a few copies of his own left and he was definitely going to hang on to every one. |

Holy Cow!!! I don't know how many times I thought about trashing my childhood copy of "A Funny Thing..." because it wasn't a hardcore space book. I just checked my bookcase and it's still there. Whew!!! |
