History At Play release
Challenger: Soaring with Christa McAuliffe

Who is America's favorite teacher? Ask anyone what they know about Christa McAuliffe and they will tell you exactly where they were when the NASA Challenger 51-L shuttle mission launched; however, few people understand who Mrs. McAuliffe really was. America's Teacher in Space was an educational pioneer and her goals and accomplishments are explored in this multi-media performance experience, which debuted in 2016, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Challenger launch. Perfect for students' curriculum enrichment.

History At Play, LLC discovers the true story behind the incredible teacher and American Pioneer. Now, we share Christa's spirit with you on the exact date of the 36th anniversary of the final Challenger Shuttle launch.

In 2010, founder and artistic director J. Kalaora created History At Play, LLC, with the goal to educate and entertain audiences worldwide with Immersive Living History experiences that breathe life into the stories of influential and often forgotten figures.

"To interpret 'her-story' by revitalizing the legacy of NASA's "Civilian in Space" program and to continue forging that legacy by performing as Christa, is not only an honor, but it is also a duty. Christa broke barriers and embraced those who had none to turn to. She was a role model: A paragon educator, mother, and wife."

Per an article about the performance by The Lowell Sun, "Challenger: Soaring with Christa McAuliffe" was produced with the approval of her family.
A highlight was meeting "with Christa's sister who gave her blessing and attended the opening performance. Her approval was evident when she commented, 'When we closed our eyes and listened, it was as if Christa were in the room with us.' It was one of the most important indications of approval I have ever known in my career," Kalaora said.

I have seen this production and can’t recommend it enough. It reminds me of other “one man” shows I've seen. Hal Holbrook as Mark Twain, James Whitmore as Harry Truman.

Judith Kalaora becomes Christa McAuliffe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
