This past weekend the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences partnered with NASA and the Raleigh Astronomy Club to host the program Astronomy Days 2015. Astronaut Andrew Feustel made two presentations on Saturday and a third one on Sunday.

I attended the presentation on Sunday. Dr. Feustel spoke about growing up in Michigan and attending the local community college. He then transferred to Purdue University with the knowledge that several astronauts had attended there and received a bachelors and masters degree there and then obtained a Ph.D. at Queens University-Canada. Dr. Feustel also talked about his two shuttle flights, STS-125 and STS-134, and the future of U.S. manned spaceflight. He then showed a video of STS-134 and did a Q&A session.

Afterwards Dr. Feustel spent time posing for pictures and signing autographs.

I was there on Saturday and Sunday, though only caught Feustel's talk on Saturday. His talk was really good, and he had a packed room for both sessions. He signed several photos for me. I hope you were able to also catch Dr. John Spencer's talk on the New Horizons mission to Pluto. That was a real highlight of this event.
