Space Center Houston release
International Human Space Flight Day: Unsung Heroes of Space Flight

In honor of International Human Space Flight Day, we present "Mercury to Shuttle & Beyond" celebrating the achievements of space pioneers and the unsung heroes who made space travel a reality.

Hear the stories of space history as recounted by the women Mercury 13 who, while never part of NASA's astronaut program and never flew in space, underwent some of the same physical and physiological tests of their male counterparts. Discover the importance of aerospace careers that aren't widely recognized but essential to the success of space missions.

This one-day special event is included with paid admission to Space Center Houston.
