Something Astronomical presents a live video chat with NASA Astronaut Shannon Walker. Dr Walker flew on board the International Space Station for 161 days as part of Expedition 24/25.

There will be a presentation by Dr Walker, discussing her NASA career and the future of Human spaceflight. Then you can ask the questions in the Q and A session.

This event is not like any Something Astronomical before and is not dependent on any type of fundraising and is a completely free event. This event is confirmed by NASA and IS happening on August 1st at Showroom Cinema (Creative Lounge, Paternoster row, S1 2BX), Sheffield from 7.15pm.

I sincerely hope some of you can make it, and if not please spread the word to all you can. Thank you all.

In the run up to this event, we are running a children's workshop focusing on the Story of Apollo and the moon landings.

Follow the links and please tell anyone you think can make it.

Nigel, I would like to thank you on behalf of all who attended your video link lecture. The last minute change in the astronaut did not detract from what was a most enjoyable evening. TJ Creamer was very generous with his time and answered all the questions from the audience with depth, clarity and emotion. The standard of the questions from the audience were well balanced and held TJ's attention.

You need to take a great deal of credit for the organisation of what was a free of charge event. Well done Nigel.
