We attended ESA astronaut Tim Peake's talk last night at the British Interplanetary Society in London. We have seen him several times in the last two years and he has become very polished at presenting and engaging.
He was at Sheffield this evening; he is at the RAS tomorrow night and Cambridge on Friday. (Please see the Sightings section).
If you get the chance to go and see him do so. He is very enthusiastic, inspiring and motivated and it is infectious.
Extremely good video clips to back up his talk. He described the training he has undertaken and astronaut training generally, his time at NEEMO, a project now facing cancellation.
He talked very positively about current and future space efforts including European collaboration with China. The Moon, Mars, asteroids and beyond seemed very real again if only briefly.
