Two NASA teams were honored — those who worked to make Expedition 30 a success under the leadership of flight director Matt Abbott and those who worked to make the first SpaceX Dragon flight to the ISS a success under the leadership of flight director Holly Ridings.

The crew's presentation began with a narrated missions highlight video, which was underscored — literally — by the acoustic guitar styling of Dan Burbank as was recorded on-orbit. Memorable scenes included many of Don Pettit's now trademark Saturday Morning Science demos (together with an Angry Bird or two...).

The crew then took questions from the audience. A young girl asked what was the most creative thing they ate in space. Pettit replied, "I discovered that you can put peanut butter and jelly on both sides of the bread!"

Asked about the number of photographs that they took while in space, not only did they take the one millionth photo from on the space station, they also took the 1.5 millionth photo, too!

The evening ended with the screening of a short film, "Walking on Thin Air," which you can watch below. Seeing it projected on the large-format film-size screen was a real treat.

I guess when they go back to the moon or on to Mars someone will now have to find out which side a disassembled peanut butter and jelly sandwich lands, the peanut butter or the jelly....
