New England Air Museum release
Space Expo
April 1, 2012

An opportunity to discover New England's aerospace industry and today's partnerships in space exploration.

Former NASA Astronaut Rick Searfoss will be on hand the entire day to present and speak with visitors about his experiences piloting two Space Shuttle missions (STS-56 and STS-78) and commanding STS-90, as well as his work as a test astronaut for XCOR Aerospace Company.

More than 15 exhibitors from across New England will participate.

One Giant Leap will be there so any collectSPACE members please stop by and say hello.

We will be giving a talk on commercial space plus have displays, contests and space talk.

Come on over!

Having been previously to NEAM, I heartily endorse their Space Days. I would be up there (even though I've seen Searfoss before), but plans to go to DC for Discovery's arrival prevents me from doing so. Enjoy!

Searfoss did a great presentation as always. I was surprised it went on as long as it did since they had another speaker coming up. Unfortunately I had to leave before he was done.

The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center was listed as one of the exhibitors but I did not see them with a table there. I wonder if they didn't make it.

They arrived a bit late but were there. I talked briefly with their rep, Mr. McDonald. They are planning an event for the weekend of May 4-5 quite possibly with an astronaut appearance.

Thanks to Garry (MarylandSpace) for coming up and supporting One Giant Leap and the NEAM. He was a great asset to our display table. We couldn't have done it without him. He was great with the kids, adults and ran a fun trivia contest. Thanks!!!!

He was helpful to the NEAM for helping with crowd control with Rick. Kept that long line moving and was a great end of line man...

Thank you!!

All times are CT (US)
