On July 14, 2012, at Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay, MA, One Giant Leap Inc. will be hosting a special "Launch with Suni" event from 9 to 11:00 p.m.

Special guest astronaut Dan Burbank will tell about life aboard the ISS, what it is like to train in Russia and then give live commentary as we watch Suni Williams, Aki Hoshide and Yuri Malenchenko launch on the big screen via NASA TV.

The event is open to the public and is free. For more information, please email.

We are a go for tonight. We have a good crowd of friends, supporters and family coming to our talk and event. Suni is psyched and ready to go. Gorby will be watching it from home.

Dan Burbank should be able to supply us with some great stories and insight as to one of his first public appearances in the area since he came home.

Thanks to the One Giant Leap supporters on cS that helped us out. It is nice to be helped by a this group and I will always help you guys.

I hope to see some of you tonight. If not watch on NASA TV.

Have fun! If you have some time, here is a great movie about flying the Soyuz. (Although the translation is pretty crappy - originally, it is a series of 4 Russian episodes):

Thanks to all for attending. We had a little over 100 people attend the late Saturday night launch. It started with a small blip but we got it worked out and Dan Burbank gave a great talk about the ISS and what Suni will be going through and what to expect at launch and ascent.

About 5 minutes before launch we switched to NASA TV and Dan Burbank gave running commentary as cheers erupted when it left the pad and when Yuri daughters doll started to float and she was in orbit.

Dan stayed a while after to talk to everyone and even signed some stuff.

The photos that Expedition 29 and 30 took were awesome and we are looking forward to more.

All times are CT (US)
