Astronaut Day at the USGA Museum Brian Duffy STS-45, 57, 72, 92 Tim Terry, Flight SimulatorUnited States Golf Association Museum 77 Liberty Corner Rd. Far Hills, New Jersey 0731 March 18, 2010, 3:00pm The USGA Museum and Arnold Palmer Center for Golf History, will host special guests and friends of the USGA, retired NASA astronaut Brian Duffy and space shuttle flight simulation supervisor Tim Terry for a return “Shuttle Putter” presentation at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2010.The “Shuttle Putter” is a golf club that Terry had a friend design specially for Duffy, a fellow golf enthusiast who flew on four space shuttle missions. Duffy used the putter, which Terry had secretly arranged to have stowed on board, during the 1996 voyage of the space shuttle Endeavour, for which Duffy served as captain. This unusual putter was later donated to the USGA and is now part of the Museum’s permanent collection. During the presentation, which is open to the public with regular admission, Duffy and Terry will talk about the space program and share some of their stories and experiences. Those who would like to test their knowledge of NASA’s space program can participate in a mini quiz. Photos and autographs will be permitted during a meet-and-greet period following the presentation. Light refreshments and a commemorative souvenir will be available at the conclusion of the program. Visitors of all ages are welcome.
