Details have yet to be confirmed but March 6th, 2009 sees an Evening with Gene Cernan presented by Ken Willoughby and Carleton Community High School in Pontefract, West Yokshire. Should be a good one.Regards,

This is getting ridiculous. If you'd asked me to name anywhere in the UK likely to play host to a string of Apollo astronauts it would've taken me several years of guessing to suggest a high school in Pontefract.Long may it continue  Cheers,

I've just been speaking to Ken and he has given me the go ahead to let you all know that Gene Cernan has cancelled his visit to the UK on the 6th of March due to such a hectic schedule.All tickets that have already been purchased for this event can either have a refund or they can use the money already paid from the Cernan ticket as a deposit for the UK visit of Jim Lovell and his lecture on October 2nd. It's a shame but these guys do get very busy. Cernan has rearranged his visit for March 2010. Tickets are still available for Charlie Duke on the 6th of Feb in Norwich. Cheers

Too bad the Cernan event had to be cancelled/postponed. Already gearing up for that with photos, patches and pins.We are getting our fair share of astronaut/cosmonaut visits these days made possible by Ken, Andy, Rex and Autographica... long may it continue. The Pontefract events have been well organised, fantastically informal with generous astronaut guests. This will surely continue over at Norwich with the very popular Charlie Duke! Looking forward to seeing and meeting the usual suspects at Norwich... along hopefully with new space enthusiasts young and old. Spread the word... the U.K is the centre of the known universe, actually Dudley in the West Midlands is. However Pontefract and Norwich are close enough. Best wishes
