Last Sunday, Expedition 16/17 astronaut Garrett Reisman gave a presentation at the Congregation Shaar Hashalom in Houston. Dr. Reisman began with a short film of his flight aboard the ISS and followed the film with a series of still images. He talked about the 'muntiny' he and Col. Malenchenko committed on April 1, how he viewed the Earth from orbit, showed a long range photo of the old and the new Yankee Stadiums from orbit, talked about conducting experiments aboard the ISS, and discussed the importance of exercise on a long duration flight. After the video presentation, a Q&A took place. I asked Dr. Reisman if he would want to make a shuttle flight or another long duration flight and he responeded that he would like to make a shuttle flight and is hoping to be on one of the remaining unassigned shuttle crews.Following the Q&A, Dr. Reisman sat at a table in the foyer and signed autographs. He said that he had to leave at noon to go to another commitment, but stayed for an extra 15 minutes or so. During his presentation, Dr. Reisman said the he will be visiting Israel next week and is planing to meet with the Prime Minister and return an item that was flown aboard the ISS. | |
