On the Op-Ed page of today's New York Times is an interesting opinion titled "The sky is falling. Really." The sub-title is "We can deflect an asteroid. Is NASA up to the job?"

I can not paraphrase Rusty's well spoken words, so check out the original. Go to www.nytimes.com and click on "opinions" and enjoy it yourself.

I was lucky enough to sit with him (and his lovely wife) at last years autograph show in New York and he is very well spoken on many subjects but this one is closest to his heart.

Clifford.

I am still in Dallas at the ISDC conference where Rusty just spoke at a luncheon the other day about his B612 organization. I must say that he made a believer out of me, not only about the danger of near-Earth asteroids but of our ability to do something about it.

FYI, for those who want to hear Rusty speak on the subject, it appears he will be doing so at the upcoming Spacefest.

....along with NASA scientist-artist Dan Durda, who's the President of Rusty's Foundation. Both will be signing some prints of the space tug they propose.
