Just wondering if anyone is going to be at the presentation by Cernan, Schirra, and Stafford this Friday evening in DC. I expect to be there. Those events are always interesting. I look foward to getting Cernan's book signed. As of now I will be in the overflow section but that's OK.

I'll be there! I just bought two copies of each of their books to have signed (my wife is going with me) and I am looking forward to meeting them all.

I'll be there too.

Earlier it was being advertised that the signing would include any reasonable item -- limit one per customer per astronaut. Now they're saying books only, and still one per.

You folks going to be taking Metro? I've ridden it at night before and it seemed quite safe though I'm always a little wary of DC at night. I figure though that a lot of people will be coming out of the museum and heading to the nearby L'Enfant Plaze station so it should be fine.

I've already got Stafford's book signed. I don't have a copy of 'Real Space Cowboys' though. I suppose I should buy it and have Wally sign it. Anyone have a review of it?

Sounds like an excellent time to utilize one of my 3 personal days of leave.

I need it. Tired in my 35th year of teaching.

Look for me in a black jacket with Hubble on the back. . . I'll also hold up a paper with CS on it of course.

Don't have tix but I'll enjoy a day at the NASM and hearing some space talk at night.

Just gone beardless, Pol.

Looking forward to meeting old and new CS members.

I'll be there. Garry, you may need that cS sign because I'm not sure I'd recognize you without the beard.

tncmaxq... should be enough folks heading from NASM to the Metro. We always try to walk with a crowd.

I already have all three books, signed. Could I go through the line(s) for a hello and a handshake?

Hope to see you all there! If my spiffy new black cS shirt arrives in time, I'll be wearing that.

I'll be there as well.

Even if you don't have tickets, you may want to hang around and see how many no-shows they have. May not be many for this, but you may also be surprised and get a seat, or at least a place to stand and watch in overflow. It never hurts to try!

It should even be cool enough to wear our flight jackets. Gonna turn cold tomorrow after the last two 70+ degree days here in Northern VA. Have a great flight jacket night!

I have overflow tics. I love these events. The Armstrong one was GREAT, as was Yeager last year. Do you think Roger Launius will sign his books too?

Unfortunately, work demands has made me have to give up today's planned vacation day to attend this event tonight (would have been driving from Canton OH to DC). Though I have the Schirra and Cernan books signed, I had been looking forward to getting the Stafford one (and of course the talk itself!) So, one of the overflow people will be lucky enough to take my spot. Enjoy.

On Fridays metro runs until 3 a.m. This doesn't necessarily mean that the last train out of LeEnfant leaves then; could be earlier.

Last event at NASM I took the Metro to the train broke down on the way home. Had a 1/2 delay until they could push the thing out of the way. Good thing it didn't happen on the way to the show!

Guys, I'll be wearing a grey & black jacket with a GPS IIF patch stitched onto the breast. It's a small patch so you'll need to be standing close to see it.

Looking forward to getting all three books signed. It's going to be a late night. Hope we don't miss the last train home!

So that's another seat freed up in the main theater then?

All times are CT (US)
